Film project

I have now started my second film project for my Multimedia course at Nottingham trent. The first few lessons progressed similar to last time with us being split into groups and we were also given our script and told to discuss potential roles and ideas.

The roles that got decided were:

Krishna/Charis - Producers
Wilson - Director
Myself/Will - Camera
Osman - Lighting
Raj- Sound

After seeing what the previous group done with the same script we all decided we wanted to go with a completely different approach. Our lecturer gave us the choice to make some alterations to the script. Although the main plot is the same we cut some scenes out and decided to take the film in a new direction. We wanted to take it away from a rom com genre and more to a british drama about a tragic loss.

The Treatment

This is the story of 20 year old student Andy who is struggling to deal with the balance between his student and personal life. After losing his ex girlfriend Zara, he is struggling to cope with the situation and constantly blames himself for how things turned out. Its been almost exactly a year and its the last day of term and Andy has decided to take matters into his own hands to deal with his depression and sorrow by mixing alcohol with his prescription medicine at a flat party. Andy thinks that he has seen zara with another guy and continues to drown his sorrows at his friends encouragement. Upon second look Zara has left the party which leads Andy in a chase throughout the streets of Nottingham in search of the love of his life. He has been waiting for this moment and sees this as his last chance until the chase suddenly comes to a stand still and Andy breaks down. It all comes back to him. This whole time he has failed to accept what really happened a year ago until it finally hits him when he reaches the street where he lost Zara a year ago, in a tragic car accident.
